1. Introduction
Welcome to Nordic Riders AS. By renting a motorcycle or ordering any other services, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before renting a motorcycle or ordering any other services provided by Nordic Riders AS. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please refrain from using our services.
2. Motorcycle Rental
2.1 Eligibility
- Renters must be at least 21 years old.
- Renters must hold a valid motorcycle license recognized in Norway.
- Renters must provide proof of identity, such as a passport or national ID card (for Norwegian and EU citizens only).
2.2 Rental Requirements
- A refundable security deposit of 10,000 NOK is required at the time of rental.
- The renter is responsible for an insurance deductible (excess) of 10,000 NOK in case of damage.
- The motorcycle must only be operated by the individual(s) named in the rental agreement.
- The renter must inspect the motorcycle for damages before use and notify the company of any pre-existing issues.
- The renter must comply with all maintenance requirements specified by Nordic Riders AS.
2.3 Rental Period and Usage
- The rental period begins at the agreed-upon pickup time and ends when the motorcycle is returned.
- The motorcycle is provided to the renter at the beginning of the rental period with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with a full tank.
- Late returns may incur additional fees of 200 NOK per hour. If late return exceeds 4 hours, a full additional rental day may be charged.
- The motorcycle must be returned in the same condition as it was rented, with any damages reported immediately.
- Any changes to the pick-up or return of the motorcycles must be communicated to and agreed upon by Nordic Riders AS at least 24 hours in advance and may incur additional fees.
- All motorcycle driving fines, parking fines, towing fees or toll fees incurred during the rental period are the sole responsibility of the renter.
2.4 Prohibited Use
- Racing, off-road use (unless explicitly agreed upon), or illegal activities are prohibited.
- Renters may not use the motorcycle for commercial purposes, such as deliveries or taxi services or any unauthorized activities that generate income.
- Operating the motorcycle under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited.
- Overloading the motorcycle beyond the specified limit is not allowed.
- Subletting or lending the motorcycle to any unauthorized person is prohibited.
- Renters are prohibited from pulling, towing, or attaching any trailer, sidecar, or any other objects to the motorcycle at any time.
- Crossing international borders with the rented motorcycle is strictly prohibited, unless the specific written permission of Nordic Riders AS is obtained in advance.
2.5 Insurance and Liability
- All motorcycles are covered by basic insurance, including third-party liability.
- Renters are responsible for any damage up to the insurance excess of 10,000 NOK.
- If an accident occurs due to negligence, the renter may be held fully responsible for all damages.
- The renter must notify Nordic Riders AS immediately in case of an accident or theft and local authorities if needed and agreed with Nordic Riders AS.
2.6 Damage, Loss, and Repairs
- The renter is responsible for any damage, loss, or theft of the motorcycle and its parts and rented accessories during the rental period.
- Repairs must not be performed by the renter without prior authorization from Nordic Riders AS.
- In the event of an accident, the renter must immediately notify Nordic Riders AS and, if applicable, local authorities.
2.7. Booking Leader & Signing of Individual Contracts
2.7.1. Definition of Booking Leader
- The Booking Leader is the individual responsible for making the reservation and organizing the rental of all motorcycles.
- The Booking Leader may not necessarily be the person driving all motorcycles, but they will assume full responsibility for the booking process, payment, and compliance with the terms and conditions for all motorcycles reserved under their name.
2.7.2. Responsibilities of the Booking Leader
- Primary Contact: The Booking Leader will serve as the primary point of contact for Nordic Riders AS throughout the booking, rental, pick-up and return process.
- Payment: The Booking Leader is responsible for ensuring the full payment for all motorcycles, including any deposits, rental fees, damages, or additional charges incurred during the rental period.
- Compliance: The Booking Leader must ensure that all riders are informed of and comply with the terms and conditions prior to booking confirmation.
- Authorization: The Booking Leader must authorize any individual(s) who will be riding the motorcycles. The Booking Leader guarantees that all riders meet the eligibility requirements set by Nordic Riders AS, including holding valid motorcycle licenses and meeting age restrictions.
2.7.3. Signing of Individual Contracts
- Upon arrival to pick up the motorcycles, all riders, including the Booking Leader, are required to sign an individual rental contract before receiving any motorcycle.
- The contract will outline the terms and conditions specific to each rider’s use of the motorcycle(s), including responsibilities, liabilities, and insurance coverage.
- The Booking Leader is responsible for ensuring that all riders, whether listed on the original booking or added later, are present and sign their own contracts.
- Each rider must provide proof of their identity, a valid motorcycle license recognized in Norway, and any other documents required by Nordic Riders AS before signing their individual contract.
2.7.4. Acknowledgment of Terms
- By signing the individual contract, each rider acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to the terms and conditions of the rental agreement, including all responsibilities and liabilities outlined in this document.
- Each rider also acknowledges that they are liable for the safe and lawful use of the motorcycle during the rental period and agree to abide by the rules and regulations set by Nordic Riders AS.
2.7.5. Liability
- The Booking Leader is responsible for any damages, violations, or other issues that arise up until the point when the drivers/riders arrive to pick up the motorcycles and sign their own contracts. From that point onward, the individual drivers will be responsible for any damages, violations, or other issues that occur during the rental period.
- In the event of an accident, damage, or violation, the Booking Leader will be settling any claims or fees, even if the incident was caused by another rider.
2.7.6. Failure to Sign
- If any rider fails to sign their individual contract, they will not be permitted to take possession of the rented motorcycle. The Booking Leader is responsible for ensuring that all contracts are signed by all riders in order for the rental to proceed. In case of failure to sign no refund will be provided.
2.7.7. Changes and Cancellations
- The Booking Leader has the authority to modify or cancel the reservation, subject to the cancellation and modification policy by Nordic Riders AS. However, any changes made after the reservation confirmation are at the discretion of the Nordic Riders AS and may incur additional charges.
2.7.8. Indemnification
- The Booking Leader agrees to indemnify Nordic Riders AS against any claims, damages, or legal actions resulting from the actions of the rider(s) they authorize to operate the rented motorcycles, but only to the extent that such claims are settled through the payments made by the Booking Leader. Any other damages or liabilities caused by the renters will remain the responsibility of the renters and will be pursued for recovery.
2.8 Cancellation and Refund Policy
- Cancellations made more than 90 days before the rental date are eligible for a 75% refund.
- Cancellations made between 89-30 days before the rental date are eligible for a 50% refund.
- Cancellations made less than 30 days before the rental date are non-refundable.
- No-shows are not eligible for a refund.
- In the event of damages, the deposit will only be returned once the repairs are completed and the associated costs are finalised.
3. Motorcycle Tours
3.1 E-Book Tour Guide With Ready-To-Go Routes
- Nordic Riders AS provides an e-guide (“The Essential Guide to Motorcycling in Norway”) with recommended routes, accommodations, and points of interest.
- The customer is responsible for all bookings, fuel, and any additional expenses.
- Nordic Riders AS is not responsible for mechanical failures, accidents, or any other issues encountered during the tour.
- Customers must follow all local traffic regulations and assume full responsibility for their safety.
- Changes to the provided itinerary are at the customer’s own risk.
- Nordic Riders AS is not responsible for third-party service providers, including hotels, restaurants, and other accommodations, in case of cancellations or service issues.
- If motorcycles are rented from Nordic Riders AS, the terms and conditions in Section 2 (Motorcycle rental) apply.
- Participants may use their own motorcycles; however, they must comply with all regulations and terms and conditions set by Nordic Riders AS, as well as abide by Norwegian laws and regulations.
3.2 Custom Motorcycle Tour Itineraries
- Nordic Riders AS will plan a detailed itinerary based on the customer’s preferences, including suggested routes, accommodations, and activities.
- The customer is responsible for making all bookings for accommodations, meals, and other expenses.
- A tour guide may be available for assistance but does not accompany the ride unless otherwise agreed.
- Customers must comply with the provided itinerary to ensure a smooth experience.
- Any deviations from the planned route are at the customer’s risk and responsibility.
- Nordic Riders AS is not responsible for third-party service providers, including hotels, restaurants, and other accommodations, in case of cancellations or service issues.
- If motorcycles are rented from Nordic Riders AS, the terms and conditions in Section 2 (Motorcycle rental) apply.
- Participants may use their own motorcycles; however, they must comply with all regulations and terms and conditions set by Nordic Riders AS, as well as abide by Norwegian laws and regulations.
3.3 Guided Tours And Motorcycle Experiences
- Nordic Riders AS handles all arrangements, including accommodations, meals, and route planning.
- A tour guide rides with the group, ensuring smooth navigation and assistance, while also enforcing adherence to local laws.
- Participants must follow the itinerary and adhere to safety instructions provided by Nordic Riders AS.
- Any damages, injuries, or violations incurred during the tour are the participant’s responsibility.
- Nordic Riders AS is not responsible for third-party service providers, including hotels, restaurants, and other accommodations, in case of cancellations or service issues.
- If motorcycles are rented from Nordic Riders AS, the terms and conditions in Section 2 (Motorcycle rental) apply.
- Participants may use their own motorcycles; however, they must comply with all regulations and terms and conditions set by Nordic Riders AS, as well as abide by Norwegian laws and regulations.
3.4 Cancellation and Refund Policy

4. Motorcycle Photography
4.1 Booking and Scheduling
- All photoshoot sessions must be scheduled in advance. The client must confirm the date, time, and location of the shoot.
- Any changes to the agreed schedule should be communicated and confirmed by both sides at least 48 hours prior to the session.
4.2 Permissions and Access
- The client must ensure that they have full access to the motorcycle(s) to be photographed during the session.
- Any necessary permissions for the location(s) must be secured by the client. The photographer is not responsible for obtaining location permits unless otherwise agreed.
- If motorcycles are rented from Nordic Riders AS, the terms and conditions in Section 2 (Motorcycle rental) apply.
- Participants may use their own motorcycles; however, they must comply with all regulations and terms and conditions set by Nordic Riders AS, as well as abide by Norwegian laws and regulations.
4.3 Safety Requirements
- All participants must wear safety gear in compliance with Norwegian law.
- The photographer reserves the right to stop the shoot if safety protocols are not being followed without refund.
4.4 Content Creation
- The photographer will provide creative direction during the session, but the client’s preferences will be taken into account.
- The photographer is granted the right to take photos as deemed necessary to achieve the best quality content.
4.5 Use of Equipment
- The photographer is responsible for bringing all necessary equipment for the shoot, including cameras, lighting, and stabilization gear.
- The client is encouraged to inform the photographer of any specific equipment or shots they may want, such as drone footage or specific camera angles.
4.6 Editing and Deliverables
- After the session, the photos will go through editing. This process may take between 7 days and up to 60 days, depending on the selected package and the number of images.
- The final edited content will be delivered to the client in the agreed format.
4.7 Copyright and Usage Rights
- The photographer retains copyright over all images and footage created during the session unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- The client is granted a license to use the content for personal or commercial purposes as specified in the contract. Any redistribution or commercial use outside of the agreed terms will require additional licensing.
4.8 Cancellations and Refunds
- Cancellations made more than 14 days before the scheduled session will incur a 75% cancellation fee.
- Cancellations made between 13 to 48 hours before the scheduled session will incur a 50% cancellation fee.
- Cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to the session will be subject to a 100% cancellation fee.
- No-shows are non-refundable.
- In the event of damages, the deposit will only be returned once the repairs are completed and the associated costs are finalized.
4.9 Liability and Insurance
- The photographer or Nordic Riders AS is not responsible for any accidents, injuries, or damages during the shoot.
- The client is encouraged to have proper insurance for their motorcycle and participants. The Nordic Riders AS may request proof of insurance if necessary.
5. General Terms Applicable to All Services
- Safety Gear: All riders must wear appropriate safety gear regulated by Norwegian law.
- Road Rules: Participants must adhere to all Norwegian traffic laws.
- Force Majeure: Nordic Riders AS is not liable for cancellations due to extreme weather, natural disasters, or government restrictions.
- Limitation of Liability: Nordic Riders AS is not responsible for personal injuries or property damage incurred during rentals, tours, or photoshoots.
- Termination of Agreement: Nordic Riders AS reserves the right to terminate the rental agreement or deny participation in a tour without refund if the renter or participant violates these terms or acts in a manner that endangers themselves, others, or the company’s property and reputation.
- Privacy Policy: Personal information collected during the booking process will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available at thenordicriders.com.
- All customers of Nordic Riders AS acknowledge and agree that any photography or videography taken by Nordic Riders AS, of themselves or their property used during rentals, tours, experiences, photoshoots, or videography sessions, may be used for marketing and commercial purposes by Nordic Riders AS.
6. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Norway. Any disputes arising from this agreement will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Norwegian courts.
